Maverick all rounder has hopes of comeback in may
.Yuvraj Singh, one of Sunrisers Hyderabad's latest recruits for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, has set sights on his comeback following injury. The middle-order batsman hopes to return for his team's home fixture against Suresh Raina's Gujarat Lions at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad on May 6. Yuvraj Singh had sustained an ankle injury in the ICC World T20 2016 fixture against Australia.
"I am looking to playing the game on May 6. Hopefully, I should be ready by then. I am not fully certain that I will play on 6th May, but my target is to play on the sixth. I had a go-ahead from my doctor yesterday, so hopefully, (I) will play," Yuvraj said at an event on April 21 (Thursday).
Yuvraj, who was snapped up for INR 7 crore, was expected to give the Sunrisers' line-up added strength in the middle-order but his absence has meant a lot of pressure has fallen on the overseas batsmen in the team. Without him, the Sunrisers lost their two opening fixtures, before beating holders Mumbai Indians to get off the mark in IPL 2016.
Yuvraj reckoned it was a 50-50 start to the season and that it was too soon to assess the team's chances. "Sunrisers have played three games. They have won one and lost two. At the moment, it is 50-50. After seven games, you can assess how is the team doing. [Ashish] Nehra got injured, that didn't work well for us," he added.
Yuvraj hoped Nehra makes a swift return to bolster the team's bowling attack while he too can add a lot of weight to the line-up. "I hope he comes back soon and the bowling line-up will be strengthened. And when I come back, we can strengthen both in batting and bowling. I hope till the time I go back, the team (will have) won a few games and we are in a good position. So I just wish my team all the best," Yuvraj said.
