has sought some fighting spirit as a guest at a WWE event.
The Durham star endured a chastening last-over experience in the World Twenty20 final earlier this month, when he was hit by four successive sixes by West Indies Carlos Braithwaite in England's bitter defeat.
However the 24-year-old is scheduled to launch back into the County Championship this weekend against Middlesex.
Stokes appeared at the World Wrestling evening in Newcastle as a guest time keeper.
He was welcomed to the packed out arena with the customary heavy walk on music in WWE and strolled to the ring in front of a montage of his finest England moments on the big screens.
The right-arm medium paced bowler evidently enjoyed the experience, posting on Instagram, 'Amazing experience last night at @wwe after teaching @mikethemizand @heelziggler a bit about cricket with @chance_to_shine.'
Stokes had earlier taught wrestling superstars The miz, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, and Dolph Ziggler the rules and techniques of cricket during a Chance to Shine event.
'It's important [to get out in my local area] because we want to promote cricket to youngsters as they're going to be the future generation of England cricket. I still play cricket because I enjoy it,' Stokes told the ECB.
'There's obviously a bit more to it now as it's my job. But when I growing up it was for pure enjoyment, and that's what I think we've managed to do today.'
However the England all-rounder admits he needs to brush up on his wrestling knowledge.
'I watched wrestling religiously as a kid growing up but I'm not too up-to-date with the new era. I'm all about Triple H, Kane, Big Show, Undertaker, Stone Cold and all those guys.
