Cricket Australia cuts down ticket prices for next summer.

In bid to attract more people to cricket and make it more accessible to everyone CA has decided to slash prices for tickets for next summer.Cricket Australia (CA) has slashed entry level ticket prices for international matches for the next Australian summer in a bid to attract more spectators. The cheapest tickets for Tests and One-Day Internationals will be no more than (AUD) $30 for adults, $10 for children and $65 for families, the board announced on Tuesday (April 26). More than three quarters of all seats will be cheaper than last season.

The move comes after disappointing attendances blighted last summer's Tests against New Zealand and the West Indies, which was somewhat attributed to steep entry fees for spectators.

James Sutherland, CA chief executive, said the organisation had concluded from a review that some fans had been excluded from attending Australian games due to affordability. "Record numbers of fans have been attending elite cricket matches in Australia during recent seasons and we want to make Test and one-day cricket even more accessible," he said. "This gives the opportunity for more fans to experience firsthand the skills and talent of Australia's best cricketers across all six states and the Australian Capital Territory.

"At Cricket Australia our aim is to put fans first and we are living by that mantra. Fans around the country will benefit during another summer of high-quality international cricket."

Sydney fans attending the New Year's Test against Pakistan and ODIs will see a saving of $20 on adult general reserve tickets. Fans in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane will save between $5 and $10 on adult tickets for international matches. Kids will be admitted free to Twenty20 Internationals.

Up to 41 days of international cricket across all formats have been scheduled for the 2016-17 season, with South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Pakistan touring. The international season starts on November 3 when South Africa and Australia play the First Test at the WACA in Perth.
